Making the most of your family holiday on the Gold Coast has never looked better! With so many out of this world local attractions, events, and places to see and explore near our Surfers Paradise holiday apartments you’ll be spoiled for choice in planning the perfect family getaway. There are so many school holiday activities running especially for kids and families, so make the most of them with a stay at Pacific Plaza.

Burleigh Heads National Park

While we just love the stretches of white sandy patrolled beach in Surfers Paradise, there’s certainly something special about a visit to Burleigh Heads and it’s one of the top spots for visitors to the Gold Coast to explore while on their stay. Pack a picnic or grab some fish and chips and set up a spot on Burleigh Hill to watch the surfers, see if you can spot any dolphins playing in the surf, or whales making their way up Humpback Highway as part of their annual migration.

You can swim, paddle, surf, catch waves, build sandcastles. Hours of family fun to be had on the sand. Grab a bite to eat at one of the beachfront eateries with ocean views. Shop the beautiful boutique stores on James Street and the surrounds. Hike the short walk through Burleigh National Park around the headland to Tallebudgera and Echo Beach. There are spectacular photo opportunities, and you can climb to the top to Tumgut lookout and get the best view around.

Home of the Arts

Recently undergoing a multimillion dollar upgrade Home of the Arts (HOTA) is bigger and better than ever, and has really become the cultural hub of the Gold Coast bringing visitors and locals alike in to experience the best in live entertainment, interactive experiences, cinema, fun for kids, theatre, concerts, workshops, and free family fun such as Sunday morning yoga on the green.

They are hosting the ‘Kids Take Over’ mini-festival from the 3rd to the 5th of October with a whole range of fun activities as part of the program. Running daily from 10am to 2pm there are shows, workshops, immersive family experiences, movies, and so much more. It’s all about inspiring imagination and letting the kids explore their wild side these school holidays. You can find out more here.

Spring Thrills

If adventure, thrilling rides, entertainment, laughter, and family fun are right up your alley you just can’t go past the Gold Coast theme parks.
